If you are a caregiver, parent, or relative of a patient with special needs, we will go the extra mile to ensure your loved one is comfortable while they are with us. We can treat a patient with special needs in our office or a hospital operating room, whichever is the best option for the patient. Dr. Blankenship-Sniker has admitting privileges at several area hospitals. We also split up procedures into manageable chunks so they won’t feel overwhelmed.
There is a lot to process at the dentist. When someone has sensory issues, all the sights, sounds, textures, and even smells can feel overwhelming. We offer several solutions to address sensory sensitivities, such as weighted blankets, sensory pillows, noise-canceling headphones, and dimmable lighting. We’re also open to brainstorming to address unique sensory problems. Feel free to call prior to your appointment to discuss your needs.
We welcome all patients with special needs to our practice. Dr. Blankenship-Sniker has the training, experience, and passion to help all patients. She also has admitting privileges at several nearby hospitals to administer treatment in an operating room setting, if needed. She grew up with a brother who has autism, so she understands the challenges many special needs patients experience when pursuing medical and dental treatments. It’s a top priority for her to give your loved one the treatment they need.
