Humans have been looking for ways to replace their missing teeth for thousands of years. Fortunately for our generation, dental implant technology has progressed greatly in recent decades. The first modern dental implant was successfully placed in 1965. Today, implants are usually made from titanium, a metal that fuses easily with the bone in your jaw. This process creates a sturdy base for replacement teeth. It also gives you back a full, beautiful smile and strong bite. We will work closely with a local periodontist to get your implants placed, then you’ll come to our office when you are ready to receive your replacement teeth.
Here are a few ways that dental implants can be used:

There may be some discomfort during the minor surgical procedure of receiving implants. However, you shouldn’t feel anything with local anesthesia. Once your implants are in place, you likely won’t be able to feel them at all! Replacement teeth attached to implants are also less likely to experience uncomfortable damage such as cracks or breaks.
Your exact cost for getting dental implants will depend on several factors, including the number of implants needed, their location, and the type of replacement teeth you get. We’ll be happy to work up a treatment plan and provide you with an accurate cost for your implant treatment so you can decide what’s best for your wants and needs.
An implant must be surrounded by healthy gums and bone to heal properly once it’s placed. Depending on your oral health, we may recommend gum disease treatment or a bone graft before you receive an implant. Once healed, loose implants are exceptionally rare. In some cases, the restorations attached to your implants can come loose. If so, we can tighten or replace the restoration.
